WD TV Live Plus media player receives new online services

Western Digital has thrown in more new online services to its range of WD TV media players, where the WD TV Live Plus media player is capable of renting or purchasing new movie releases the moment they are launched on Blu-ray or DVD formats via Blockbuster On Demand in the US. The WD TV Live Plus and Live will also be able to take advantage of the newly introduced Facebook access, allowing users to upload photos and videos, update their status, view their wall and obtain News Feed info right from the comfort of their living room sofa. Additional sites and services made available to users include personalized on-demand music service Deezer, free web TV from studios, networks and video sites via Flingo and weather information courtesy of AccuWeather.com. WIth support for wireless USB keyboards with a USB dongle, wireless text input is also part of the equation. This would certainly help shift more units of the $130 WD TV Live and WD TV Live Plus, considering the WD TV Live Hub was the only model that offered Facebook and AccuWeather access, and at two hundred clams to boot.
