The Flash Player 10.1 that ships with the Advent Vega tablet did not pass Adobe’s certification testing, which means that the new Vega units will ship sans the app pre-loaded. Of course, this doesn’t mean that the Vega will remain gimped, as we can look forward to a newly tested, certified Flash Player 10.1 download to be available “in the early part of 2011.” Current owners who are running the uncertified Flash Player 10.1 plug-in will probably be disappointed with its performance, since it is nowhere near as efficient as it should be, but on the other hand, at least you can always install the certified version when available. Good things always come to those who wait, right?
