You might already be drooling over the HP dv6 notebooks that feature Intel’s Sandy Bridge silicon inside and Asus isn’t going to be left out of the fun. Reports are in that the company already has five Sandy Bridge notebooks lined up, with the most notable of the lot being the G73SW gaming machine. We’re talking about a rig fitted with Intel’s Core i7-2630QM processor, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, GeForce GTX 460M graphics, USB 3.0, dual storage bays and a 17.3-inch 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution LCD display. Pricing for this monster is set to begin around $2,500.

The other four notebooks are grouped into the N53SV and N73SV series, all of which will be powered by a 2GHz processor and feature the new GeForce GT 540M chip. Displays will include a 15.6-inch or 17.3-inch size. Prices are expected to begin at $1,200 and shipping will begin in January.
