Turns out that Kodak wasn’t the only company out there who wasn’t prepared enough for the onslaught of traffic from the Christmas crowd. Folks out there have been complaining about the fact that Barnes & Noble’s servers were unable to handle the influx of new NOOK users on Christmas Day and continued to experience issues on Sunday. The increase in traffic was also probably due to the reduction of the NOOK Wi-Fi’s price to $149 and the NOOK 3G to $199. The funny thing is, this is the second year in a row that Barnes & Noble’s server issues have kept new NOOK owners from buying eBooks on Christmas Day. The good news for NOOK owners is that the system is back to normal again, and hopefully it will stay that way for some time.
