Hmmm, if you happen to have a rub of the green in your life at the moment and own either a Droid X or Droid from Motorola, then you might have actually received the Android 2.2.1 update Over The Air (OTA). Of course, this will be the precursor to Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but at least it puts you ahead of the Android pack where most people are concerned. Apparently, the Droid X update was live last night for but a few hours, and available only to a test group, where some folks from the test group already reported issues concerning the installation – making you heave a sigh of relief now. As for original Droid owners, the Android 2.2.1 update is already rolling out albeit in stages, so there is no way at all to force the update at the moment. Up next, ladies and gents, Android 2.3!
