We haven’t heard about the Droid Eris in some time and if you were thinking of installing Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread on some phone, chances are that it wouldn’t be the first phone on your mind unless you owned one. Now the smart folks over at the XDA-forums are busy working on bringing Google’s latest and greatest mobile operating system to the Droid Eris. The current build is already up to version 6 and features Google apps, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, OpenGL and audio all working. It’s not the finished product yet, but we definitely seem to be inching towards a final product.
