The UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has just confirmed that Google UK has deleted all Wi-Fi data collected from the Internet giant’s Street View cars, where among the data included bits and pieces of e-mails, URLs and passwords. The deletion process was completed last month, which means this piece of news is a welcome Christmas present for those who are paranoid about their privacy. Still, this doesn’t mean that Google is out of the woods just yet, as there are still legal wrangles to tide over, but at least we can go to sleep tonight safe and sound, knowing that the folks over at Google will not know just what kind of nasty things you have said about your uncle behind his back over an e-mail. Santa won’t be able to access that record, putting you under the “Nice” list this year instead.
