Robots in 2010 don’t seem like they’re going to pose any Terminator-style danger to us, but who knows what the future will hold. Next up we’ve got a video showing a HRP-2 robot built by the researchers over at Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. What sets this robot apart from the rest is that it’s able to detect objects around it and discern how they can be used to help it with various tasks. You can check out the video and see it lean on a table to help balance itself while kicking a ball. It kind of gives you the feel of an elderly person, so it’s not like we’re in danger – yet.
