Mac App Store to open this January 6, 2011

Apple’s latest Mac App Store has been announced to open for business when January 6, 2011 rolls around. Basically, this means the entire App Store experience can now be ported over to Mac OS X, letting you enjoy it right in the comfort of your living room (or wherever else you place your Mac). The Mac App Store will from the get go be available in 90 countries at launch, featuring paid and free apps in various categories such as Education, Games, Graphics & Design, Lifestyle, Productivity and Utilities. Not only do you get to browse new and noteworthy apps, check out what is hot and search categories, you can also purchase, download and install apps with but a click, getting them to run almost instantaneously once you’re done. All purchased apps will play nice on your personal Macs, while updates are delivered directly through the Mac App Store. Are you marking January 6th on your calendars?
