MSI recently held a press event in Taiwan, where they paraded the U270 netbook ahead of its CES 2011 debut. What makes the U270 stand out from the rest of the crowd would be having it run on the AMD development platform instead of Intel’s, which is actually the 1.6GHz Zacate processor. Sporting an extremely slim bezel located around its 1366 x 768 resolution display, it will also be able to carry up to 500GB worth of data in a hard drive and a maximum of 4GB RAM. USB 3.0 connectivity is a staple here, as the U270 will also offer older USB 2.0 ports, VGA out, HDMI, an SD memory card reader, a standard audio jack, Ethernet support and a Kensington lock – how thoughtful! Perhaps CES 2011 will reveal more information such as pricing details and a release date, but till then, patience is the key.
