After Google had announced the Nexus S smartphone running Android 2.3 Gingerbread today, there were speculations that Android 2.3 would be available immediately on the first Nexus smartphone, the Google Nexus One. However, according to a tweet by Reto Meier, it seems that the OTA won’t be happening soon, and Nexus One owners will have to wait a few more weeks before the OTA update starts rolling out. After all, Google probably wants its newest flagship, the Nexus S, to be released and get the Android 2.3 treatment before the older Nexus One gets the upgrade.
