Polar bears probably aren’t the wimpiest animals on the planet, and the folks over at the BBC recently found that out the hard way. In order to film them up close and personal, the BBC deployed a fleet of little remote controlled, robotic cameras. Of course, sending cute little R2-D2s to do a man’s job is probably the ultimate dream, but it didn’t work out too well as the bears didn’t seem to become buddies with the robots, playfully destroying some of them too. You can check out a video of them in action after the jump. We have to admit, while some robot comrades have departed, we are blessed with some amusement out of the whole deal.
