Rockchip of China has let out that they will up the ante in the world of mobile computing with their latest RK29xx mobile processors, with the announcement expected to be made at CES 2011 in two weeks’ time. What is so special about the RK29xx series? Well, this is one solution that was specially designed to support the Android 2.2 operating system, tablet devices and Google TV. Relying on specialized 2D and 3D GPU processors as well as boasting the ability to handle 1080p HD video on Mobile Internet Devices, internet TV’s, and smart phones, this new solution is also the first of its kind in the world to be able to support the WebM VP8 video codec entirely in hardware.
