Roku Sales Doubled After Apple TV Launch

When Apple announced its updated Apple TV unit, many folks speculated that it would have a negative effect on Roku’s sales. Now Roku’s CEO, Anthony Wood, has said that the result has been the opposite of that, with sales doubling since the new unit launched. Aside from that, sales has also doubled year-over-year for the company and Roku is set to sell its millionth box before the end of the month. Roku currently holds the 11th and 12th spots on Amazon’s list of best-selling electronics, with Amazon just accounting to 25% of the company’s sales. Roku is currently projecting a $100 million revenue in 2011, following over $50 million in sales this year.
