Russian Google Nexus S Wont Have A Super AMOLED Display

This might not be the happiest news for Nexus S fans out there but it seems that the phone that will be available in other markets may not feature the popular Super AMOLED display. A good example is the confirmation that Russia will be getting the phone in February 2011, but there isn’t any mention of a Super AMOLED display, rather the phone will feature a Super Clear LCD instead. There wasn’t any reason given for the change in display technology, but it could be related to the well-publicized shortage of AMOLED displays out there. The good news is that the performance of Super Clear LCD displays should be fairly similar to that of Super AMOLED, though it’s been said to consume more power.
