Seagate Constellation.2 introduced

Seagate has rolled out the first 2.5-inch enterprise-class hard drive in the industry that touches the 1TB mark – the Constellation.2. Specially designed for server storage applications, it will not only deliver high capacity, but leading 6Gb/s performance as well in additiont to superior data integrity and best-in-class low power consumption. Targeting system builders and OEMs who want to deliver competitive, feature-rich, bulk storage solutions that also has a sustainable future in mind, the Constellation.2 drive is most at home in Directed Attached Storage (DAS), Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Network (SAN) environments. Of course, if 1TB isn’t your cup of tea, there are always 250GB and 500GB capacities to choose from. With its advanced second-generation design, data integrity is improved with a new T10 Protection Information standard, not to mention an increase in reliability which touches 1.4 million hours MTBF. The Self Encrypting Drive (SED) option ensures you’ve got data security covered throughout the entire drive lifecycle. Expect to see Dell ship systems with this drive from late December onwards.
