Sony on track to sell 15 million PS3 consoles for its fiscal year

With Christmas almost here and 2010 nearly over, companies out there are busy trumpeting their sales figures. While it was reported that Amazon shipped nearly 8 million Kindle eBook readers, it has been confirmed that Sony’s PlayStation 3 gaming console is selling rather well. In the fiscal year ending March 31^st, 2011, Sony is well on track to sell 15 million PS3 game consoles, up over 15% from last year’s 13 million consoles. Sony has also announced that it sold 4.1 million PlayStation Move controllers in two months. Not too bad and hopefully it’ll mean a little extra Christmas bonus for Sony employees.
