Toshiba has a new netbook known as the NB550D which will be powered by a dual core 1GHz AMD C50 (Ontario) processor, sporting a 10-inch display with AMD’s very own Radeon HD 6250M graphics chipset, Harman Kardon speakers for those who place a premium on audio quality even on a netbook, a 6-cell battery that is touted to be good for up to 9.5 hours of run time (impressive, we say), HDMI ouput, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, 1GB RAM and a 250GB hard drive. Powered by the Windows 7 Home Premium operating system, it will come in green, orange, or brown colors – not exactly the shades that you would instantly associate with netbooks as black seems to be the much more dominant color even until today. It looks more than half decent to be able to offer gaming on the go, and we sure as heck hope it lives up to its capability on paper.
