If you read the YouTube comments (or comments on any site), you’ll notice that trolls surface every now and then to post unwanted comments just to wind people up. It usually takes time to moderate those things and it would be nice to have a visual indicator of such things happening on our desktop. Some folks out there have decided to come up with a cute little bit of hardware to do just that, and it looks like giant rat with glowing eyes. The rat is hooked up to the computer and checks through the incoming comments to see if the comments meet the criteria to be dumped or not. The script used to control this rat checks the feed every two minutes and uses various bits of information to make a decision whether to approve or a comment or not. Sounds like a fun project that would be fun to try before Christmas. Check out a video of it in action after the jump.
