As Apple has proven, the success of modern gadgets will depend heavily on the application support that it receives and now the folks behind the WeTab have released the developer tools for creating widgets for the platform, as well as the entire operating system, which can be downloaded and installed in a virtual machine.
The WeTab is a German tablet that features an 11.6-inch display and a custom Linux operating system based on MeeGo Linux. The tablet features a custom user interface that offers a sidebar that lets you navigate through apps, web pages and widgets that are on the home screen.
