The XIM3 adapter won’t hold the distinction of being the first keyboard and mouse adapter for the Xbox 360 console, and it isn’t the first of its kind either from the company. Which is a good thing, really, since they can use their past experience to deliver something better. XIM Technologies’ latest device could very well be the best solution right now in the market that intends to deliver a FPS experience which is as close to the PC as possible while you’re rocking to an Xbox 360 game. What makes the XIM3 all the more desirable is the integrated LCD display that allows you to customize settings from there and then, alongside choosing a specific setup for a given title. As different games on Microsoft’s console comes with their own brand of feel and control mechanics whenever you boot it up, accurately translating the movements from a keyboard and mouse will need to be adapted on a game-by-game basis. The XIM3 won’t fail you in that department as it relies on ‘Smart Translators’ to ensure there’s always 1-to-1 movement between the mouse and your target reticule on-screen – just make sure you specify the correct game. The list of supported titles is ever expanding, and we would go out on a limb to say that all the popular titles such as Halo and Call of Duty will definitely play nice with the XIM3.
