10 billion App Store downloads and still counting

Well, that didn’t take too long, did it? It is slightly more than a week since Apple posted about their 10 billion App Store download counter, and in that time period, this milestone was achieved. To get a visual idea of how large 10 billion is, that is 10,000,000,000 – 10 zeroes in all, taking just a few years to do so. Of course, this just goes to prove that software is where the value is at, and not hardware. It did help a whole lot that Apple’s hardware ecosystem which supported the App Store worked more or less perfectly, too.
