$10,000 winning call from Apple hung up by ladyYou know how skeptical the world is when a lady actually hung up when an Apple rep called her to tell her that she was the winner of a $10,000 gift card simply by virtue of her downloading the 10 billionth app from the App Store. Gail Davis, a woman who resides in Orpington, England, actually answered “Thank you very much; I’m not interested”. Later on, Davis was informed by her daughters, where one of them downloaded the free PaperGlider app as seen above, and that was probably the app that hit the jackpot. This led Davis to be rather distraught (who wouldn’t), so she called Apple back and found out that the person on the company’s helpdesk was rather nonchalant about it. Later on, Davis found redemption when Apple called her again, this time round from a colleague of Eddy Cue, Apple’s VP of iTunes. $10,000 worth of apps from the App Store – time to go nuts! We do wonder how long she will take to finish that kind of winnings. Oh, if only the “I Am Rich” app is still around…
