To hear that Apple is dabbling in motion-control technology for the keyboard probably wouldn’t surprise anyone as the fruity company has long busied itself with tinkering with input devices, which has resulted in products such as Multi-touch displays and also the Magic Mouse. Now folks have discovered a patent that describes a keyboard that features four “slot cameras” around the perimeter of the keyboard, allowing it to track the user’s finger movements immediately above the keyboard, which would be able to provide the usual mouse or trackpad functions of cursor tracking and window scrolling. While it doesn’t look like we’ll be ditching our mouse/trackpad anytime soon, do you think that such a keyboard would finally kill the mouse?
