Dell’s maiden foray into the world of Windows Phone 7 comes in the form of the Venue Pro, where it is tipped to arrive in the UK via online retailer Expansys on February 2nd. It will retail for £440, and it is a good thing that already includes VAT and delivery, which means the device is just a wee bit more affordable than the HTC 7 Pro and Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. Of course, others who are looking for a more affordable alternative in that part of the world can always settle for a different Dell smartphone, the Streak, which retails for less than £320. Features of the Venue Pro are a large 4.1-inch WVGA AMOLED screen covered with Corning’s Gorilla glass, a 5-megapixel camera with AF and flash, 8GB internal memory, 512MB RAM, Wi-Fi connectivity and a full slider QWERTY keyboard. It will play nice with Xbox Live and Zune plus includes Microsoft Office applications right out of the box. Any takers?
