Setting the 10-second timer on your camera isn’t the only way to take a picture without involving your hands. If you have some DIY skills, you might want to give this project a shot, and create your own pedal shutter release from just $30 worth of parts, such as a keyboard sustain pedal, a stereo cable and a mono plug. Once you’ve followed the instructions and soldered the mono plug onto the end of the cable and plug it into the pedal and your camera, you’ll be able to control the camera shutter with your foot. Not the most elegant solution, but definitely feasible.
