Some researchers from the National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan have come up with a prototype system that can be used to treat cancer without chemotherapy or invasive surgery. The system is a device that induces nano-magnetic particles to raise the temperature of a tumor. When the temperature is right (41.5°C to 46°C/107°F to 115°F), the destructive cells are killed while the normal cells are left unharmed. These magnetic particles are guided by an extremely accurate 3D Magnetically Guiding Endoscope System. Using this technology, time spent getting rid of the tumors is significantly reduced, which means less time spent in the hospital, and less time a patient spends suffering. There has been no announcement to when we’ll be seeing this technology used in hospitals, but when it does, it’s time to say goodbye to Chemotherapy.
