Remember Google wanted to purchase Groupon not too long ago? Since the deal didn’t fall through, Google is taking things into their own hands. A leaked document has shown Google’s plans to launch their own discount service sometime in the coming months or weeks. Called Google Offers, this discount service will work similarly like Groupon – offering pre-paid offers and vouchers to help businesses promote their products and services to customers. Not many details have been revealed, but the basic business model has been outlined, showing how the discount service will work. It’s going to be interesting to see how well Google will fare against the renowned Groupon. With the use of Google Ads, Google definitely has an edge in advertising power for its clients, on the other hand Groupon has been around for awhile, so brand loyalty and reputation would play a part as well. Do you think the two companies could play in the field side by side or will one outdo the other?
