While we were still mulling over the question as to why GSM iPhones lack the personal hotspot feature, here we play the role of being a Verizon iPhone. Of course, the mobile carriers will have to do their part by supporting this feature, so when it comes to AT&T, this might not happen overnight. The more customer friendly (read: lenient ) carriers might just be pleased to know about this status update, since it allows users to hook up to 5 devices via Wi-Fi to the iPhone’s data connection. So far, we have found out that the version will be 8F5148b, sporting a baseband of 04.08.00, and technical acceptance is currently being worked out during March. Time to break out the champagne, right?
