LG Optimus 2X bests the iPhone 4 in browsing speed Despite the arrival of Google’s Nexus S phone, LG’s upcoming Optimus 2X is also one of the most anticipated Android phones out there. While there’s no promise that it’ll be able to challenge the iPhone 4 for the top spot on the mobile scene, what we do know is that a video has surfaced, comparing the browsers on both phones. There aren’t any detailed benchmarks in the video (after the jump), but it does show the Optimus 2X loading pages faster than the iPhone. Of course, browsing speed isn’t everything, but it’s nice to know that performance is zippy.

LG: LG Corporation is a South Korean conglomerate that is based in Seoul. LG operates a number of subsidiaries including LG Electronics, LG Display, LG Telecom, and LG Chem. The conglomerate specializes in developing electronics, telecom products, and chemicals. LG Corp. was founded in 1947 by Koo In-Hwoi. Koo first established Lak-Hui Chemical Industrial Corp. in 1947. Today, Lak-Hui (pronounced lucky) is known as LG Chem. The company then expanded its business and created Goldstar Co. Ltd, now known as LG Electronics Inc. Both companies merged and formed Lucky-Goldstar, which was eventually renamed “LG” in 1995.
