We previously caught wind of Best Buy’s upcoming Buy Back program and now some additional details of the program have surfaced, thanks to a leaked internal PDF document. The document spells out what the program means to the customer, Best Buy, and also employees who work at Best Buy. Internally, Best Buy is positioning it as a good way to continually lock in customers, since customers will likely come back to Best Buy when they’re ready to upgrade and they also tend to spend more than the amount on the gift cards that they receive. Best Buy also has an equipment condition scale to determine the price that you’re given for your electronic device, such as “Good”, “Poor” and “Substantially Impaired”. It probably wouldn’t surprise anybody to hear that “Substantially Impaired” products won’t qualify for the Buy Back program.
