Netflix removes add to DVD queue option from streaming devicesNews isn’t always happy news and now Netflix has told users that it will be ditching the “add to DVD queue” option from all its streaming capable devices. This means that users who use Blu-ray players, game consoles and most likely iOS apps will now have to visit the regular website to add any DVDs. While you might not be inclined to believe it, the company claimed that it was necessary to “concentrate on offering you the titles that are available to watch instantly online”. Apparently the physical rental option “complicates the instant watching experience” and slows down the development of the Internet viewing feature.

Considering that Netflix has been placing a lot of focus on its streaming option and also hiking the rates for DVD subscriptions, such a move probably won’t come as too much of a surprise, though customers have already been giving negative feedback on this move.
