Ford has just unveiled some new details about their upcoming Ford Focus that will run on electricity. The car will feature EcoMode, a software program that monitors how drivers drive their vehicle and tries to help them reduce their fuel consumption. The program displays the information will give them a score that is factored from everything the driver does – how long they spend in the highest gear, how long they leave the engine idling and so on. With driving habits having the biggest impact on how a car uses its fuel, a gauge to inform the driver how good or bad he/she drives should be an eye opener that will help people realize what they are doing wrong. The Ford Focus will also feature EcoRoute – a program that generates the most fuel efficient route to their intended destination.
