Regardless of the image stabilization techniques and tools that camera manufacturers include into their cameras, it’s still very easy to end up with blurry images. Now someone out there has come up with a DIY solution to prevent all of this. The setup involves an Arduino board, Bluetooth modem, 3-axis accelerometer, gyroscope and a trigger for the camera. Once it’s all set up, you’ll be able to use the new hardware to snap each image and it takes care of triggering the camera’s shutter in order to ensure that the inertial data and the image are synchronized correctly. Doesn’t look like anything that we’ll have in our pocket anytime soon, but hopefully the project will expand and mature.
