Aside from a recent bump, Skype seems to be going through a pretty comfortable period. After recently announcing the acquisition of Qik, the company has just hit a record number of simultaneous users today. The VoIP company usually serves about 25 million simultaneous users during peak hours, but this time the company had more than 27 million users signed onto the service at the same time. Folks are speculating that the increase in numbers might have been helped by the fact that the latest version of Skype for iOS supports 3G video calling, making the app very desirable on Appleās iPhone 4.
