Sony’s official PlayStation blog has just let the cat out of the bag, that the PS3 will be getting what they call a “minor” update, bumping up the software version number to 3.56. Of course, all eyes are on Sony as they prepare to host a press event in Tokyo, but it would also be nice if the Japanese company were more elaborate in what kind of benefits and functionalities this new update will bring. We do know that it will carry with it a security patch similar to its previous update, and who wants to guess that this so-called security patch will actually attempt to rein in the the PS3 jailbreak which is making its rounds worldwide? Have you gotten your update yet, and what do you think of it?
