[CES 2011] We’ve seen desk phones powered by Google’s Android mobile operating system before, but what do you think about a desk phone that is powered by Microsoft’s Windows 7? Speakal is currently showcasing such a device, dubbed the BTS8. The integrated operating system allows users to manage and record phone calls, answer emails and even video chat via the integrated webcam and Skype. It also boasts the other capabilities such as a web browser, fax capabilities (receiving), SMS text messaging, media player, contact management, calendar and VGA output. The company’s CEO claims that users will be able to save up to 90% of the power regularly used by a desktop computer, though most folks would probably find it strange to see their computer housed inside a standard phone.
