Hot off the heels of T-Mobile announcing that their Samsung Vibrant will be getting the Android 2.2 Froyo update, Sprint has also tweeted to not get left behind, offering the Android 2.2 update for the Epic 4G handset, too. Of course, it goes without saying that Sprint also emphasized that the Android 2.2 Froyo update for the Epic 4G will still need to go through their rigorous testing criteria so that the final user experience will not be compromised. It must be mentioned that a near-final test build leaked out in December, so Sprint has had some time to make sure this update works flawlessly, and we do keep our fingers crossed that this update will be able to arrive before January is over. While no exact date has been stated just yet, we await with bated breath.
