[CES 2011] TRENDnet has announced its 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapter with Bonus Outlet and 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapter with Bonus Outlet Kit, bearing model numbers TPL-402E and TPL-402E2K respectively. In case you didn’t notice it, the latter is a package that offers two units of the former.

One of the major downsides of Powerline adapters out there is that you tend to lose a power outlet, since the adapter is occupying it. TRENDnet’s solution is to offer you a “bonus outlet” on the adapter, ensuring that you’ll not have to sacrifice a power outlet just to get your networking done. Each adapter features embedded power saving technology that will reduce power consumption by up to 70% in standby mode. While products such as coffee makers, microwaves and other devices tend to create electrical power spikes, an advanced electrical noise filter maintains high performance signal strength, significantly boosting performance. The TPL-402E will set you back $99.99 when it’s available in March, or you can shell out $179.99 for the TPL-402E2K.
