Twitter has just introduced their latest addition known as “Connections” to further enhance the usability of their micro-blogging service, where it enables folks to find people they know and with mutual friends. Hmmm, sounds pretty familiar, doesn’t it? Didn’t social networks of the past (and present) implement the idea of six degrees of separation already? The Connections tool will replace the previous “Followed by” which featured your friends who followed a certain person, while the “BOTH follow you” feature indicated the profiles that were followed by you and people here. The first line of “Connections” will allow you to see which of your friends also follow that particular person, while the second lets you see the profiles you follow in common. Will the reinvention of the wheel by Twitter help it gain more subscribers? We don’t think so, as Foursquare and Facebook have already implemented this tool for some time.
