Virgin Mobile decided to be a party pooper by stopping its all-inclusive, $40 monthly 3G Broadband 2Go data plan. In place of that, they will enforce a soft data cap whenever users hit 5GB worth of data use during their monthly use, throttlign your speed after that. According to Virgin Mobile, this is to ensure a fair playing field for all their users for a more optimal experience. Hey Virgin Mobile – let’s say you do not provide the speeds as advertised before we even hit the 5GB limit, can we then pay you in part as well? Sarcasm aside, this is a similar game plan that T-Mobile and Cricket are currently doing, where the scheme will fall into place a day after Valentine’s to coincide with users’ billing dates. Virgin Mobile believes that this will affect only a small minority since most folks won’t consume 5GB worth of data monthly – do you want to prove them wrong?
