Julien Schapman, a Windows Phone developer, is currently working on rolling out a Windows Phone 7 Device Manager which will not forget about jailbreaking Microsoft’s mobile operating system in the process. This application is being planned to roll out after Microsoft’s first Windows Phone 7 update, where it will enable owners to manage their applications, explore devices, create device backups, add ring-tones and synchronize favorites. Not only that, homebrew fans will probably fall head over heels in love with the Device Manager’s ability to jailbreak Windows Phone 7, paving the way for side-loading of applications. The unlock method utilized is not too different from that of ChevronWP7 as it involves using a fake registration server, although Schapman claims his method is “different and more reliable. For example it automatically detects when a WP7 is plugged in and will check if this is a registered developer phone, if not it will register it once and for all, so the device will never re-lock like with ChevronWP7.” Will this ability to jailbreak your phone in reliable manner cause you to move your wallet for a Windows Phone 7 handset?
