Bad news for those looking forward to receive the delicious Honeycomb on their Android smartphones – Google has mentioned that Honeycomb (Android 3.0) will not be coming to smartphones anytime soon. When Google’s spokesman, Andrew Kovacs, was asked about the arrival of the Honeycomb on smartphones, he replied “Features will arrive on phones over time.” This pretty much confirms speculations of Android 2.X being for phones and 3.X for tablets. Though features from Honeycomb will be trickling down to smartphones, it’s going to take awhile. Fortunately Android has a dedicated developer community that will probably make this happen before Google does.
