Battlefield 1943 and Onslaught for PC cancelled

Bad news for Battlefield fans. DICE, the developers of the massively successful Battlefield franchise has announced on their official blog that Battlefield 1943 for the PC has been cancelled. After countless delays, the developers have finally thrown in the towel and decided to move on instead. Onslaught, an expansion for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has also been cancelled as well. On their blog, they mentioned, “Our talented teams will focus on delivering the greatest possible gaming experience in our next behemoth release” which refers to the upcoming Battlefield 3. It looks like folks who want to play 1943 will have to get their hands on a console instead. Hopefully this act of cancelling games for the PC won’t start to become a trend. Any disappointed PC gamers out there?
