With the price of Dell’s MacBook Air competitor, the Adamo, dropping constantly, the writing was already on the wall for a while. Dell has now officially dropped its Adamo 13 and folks who are looking for the notebook on Dell’s site are recommended the thicker but more powerful XPS 15 and 17 instead. The benefits of the Adamo for PC users were obvious as it offered an aluminum casing and a SIM card slot on the side of the notebook. Of course, amidst all the bad news there is some good news as word is going around that the Adamo brand will continue to live on in a new design that is due to be released in six months and the device will fall under Dell’s existing consumer brands. With the demise of the Adamo, it means that there aren’t any serious contenders to Apple’s MacBook Air at this time, but hopefully Dell will come back strong.
