Google Docs Viewer supports 12 new formats

Great news for users of Google Docs, everybody’s (well, maybe almost everybody) online document viewer has just been updated to support 12 additional formats. According to a post from the Official Google Docs blog, starting today, the Google Docs Viewer can view even more types of documents than it previously could. Formats such as Excel, PowerPoint, Apple Pages, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and more can be easily opened online straight from your Gmail account without you having to download them and launching a separate program to do the job. The files can also be easily uploaded to Google Docs for easy sharing. Hit the break to check out the full list of new supported formats:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 / 2010 (.PPTX)
  • Apple Pages (.PAGES)
  • Adobe Illustrator (.AI)

  • Autodesk AutoCad (.DXF)
  • Scalable Vector Graphics (.SVG)
  • PostScript (.EPS, .PS)
  • TrueType (.TTF)
  • XML Paper Specification (.XPS)
