[MWC 2011] A behind-the-scenes picture at Mobile World Congress 2011 has confirmed that Intel is planning to show an Atom-based MeeGo smartphone at the event. The device was pictured on a large promotional image, side-by-side with an unnamed tablet running a larger version of MeeGo. There wasn’t any specific name mentioned in the leak, but folks are speculating that it might be the Aava Core that was mentioned a while back. The device will apparently be using Medfield, the new version of its Atom processor platform and should be smaller and cooler-running than the current Oak Trail platform. While we don’t have much information on these devices just yet, the good news is that we shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to find out the full details.
