[MWC] MasterImage 3D wants to light up Mobile World Congress 2011 with their new 3D displays and immersive 3D user interface, boasting cell-matrix parallax technology on a new 7″ 3D display that works in tandem with an immersive 3D user interface. The hardware/software system will boast an auto-stereoscopic 3D display that is based on MasterImage’s cell-matrix parallax barrier, where it will offer viewers a wider viewing angle, brighter image and portrait/landscape modes than 3D displays that employ a ‘striped’ approach. Could this be the new direction where 3D is heading to? Perhaps, and with more and more 3D content being made available to the masses, it might just open up a whole new world of possibilities for gaming, mobile entertainment and perhaps, even merchandising. Remember that holographic chess game in Star Wars? That is probably nearer to us now than ever before.
