Here’s some bad news for Motorola CLIQ XT owners – you’re not getting Android 2.1. Despite the update to the operating promised a few months ago, and all the talk about how they’re in the testing phases? It turns out to be all talk after all as the official Android 2.1 update for the CLIQ XT has been cancelled. The reason for the cancellation of the update is that Android 2.1 doesn’t perform well on the CLIQ XT and despite trying for a long time to make it work on the phone, they just couldn’t do it. Does this look like a job for the Android developer community? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. How many disappointed CLIQ XT owners are there in the audience today?
