Redbox to challenge Netflix in the movie streaming businessNetflix is probably one of the most successful movie streaming services available at the moment, and it’s been some time since they’ve ever had a challenger for the crown. Well all that is about to change. Redbox has confirmed with some analysts that they will be launching a movie subscription service to compete with Netflix. Redbox will be offering a movie streaming service that will be subscription-based, meaning that users will pay a monthly fee to whatever films they want from their service. In addition to Redbox stepping up to the plate, there are also rumors of Amazon joining forces with Redbox in this competition. Amazon acquired Lovefilms, an “European Netflix” not too long ago and already have plans to launch their own streaming service by the end of this month. Nothing has been set in stone yet, since nobody official has been offering any comments, but Netflix might be facing some serious competition in the coming months. Let’s see what Redbox and Amazon have to offer to go against them.
